Age Friendly Communities (AFC) is an Ireland-Wales INTERREG funded project. It brings together five partners in Ireland and Wales to develop intergenerational strategies (local and trans-national) and to pilot activities to encourage community cohesion and social inclusion, positive images of others and the sharing of cultural heritage, living healthy lifestyles and life long learning.
AFC will run between April 2011 and March 2014.
This project is led by Conwy County Borough Council (Wales).
The project partners are the Ageing Well Network (Ireland) a not-for-profit organisation which will be working with Kildare County Council, Conwy County Borough Council (Wales), Isle of Anglesey County Council (Wales), Kilkenny County Council (Ireland), Pembrokeshire County Council (Wales).
